Weights of kids clothes for shipping

While considering my shipping options for my upcoming infant/toddler/girl clothing line, I'm wondering if anyone out there has a good idea of the weights of children's clothing.

I'm wondering because this impacts what my shipping policy & pricing will be considering First Class mail through the USPS limits a package's weight to 13 oz. I'd like to have some general idea as to how many kids shirts could go in one package before I would have to opt for Priority Mail.

Posters on this forum offer that an adult t-shirt can weight anywhere from 8-12 oz.

Any KIDS clothiers out there who would be willing to share your general approach and/or specific shipping policy? How did you arrive at this decision?

Thanks so much!

In my etsy store I use standard weights. For example I charge a flat rate of $2.00 for children's and $2.50 for adults. Most of my children's shirts weigh 3-4 oz, most of my adults don't weigh more than 7 oz. I ship via paypal and print my own labels with them. I also have a scale so I can be accurate. But for my customers I only charge a flat rate.

Oh and I find it REALLY annoying when people charge too much for shipping kids clothes when I know how much it really costs.

I shipped one baby onesie over to Kansas and they charge me 7.20 to send it on paypal... using USPS

I would love what you shipped your products in so i can only pay 2.00 or 2.50 for adult shirts, how much would it charge 7 onesie..
