hi,

im thinking of tradmarking my company name but when i go on the search site it brings up something similar. say my company is called "cars 2" and there is another company called "cars2" without a space between the cars and number 2, would i be infringing on their trademark?

Not necessarily. As long as the other Cars2 does not sell clothing or anything associated to your products you should be fine. My company is named CB2 Clothing Co. however there is a big furniture company named CB2, I have spoken to a lawyer and he has assured me that as long as I don't start selling furniture and appliances, which as appealing as that sounds :p, I am not infringing on anything.
