Rhinestone software

I would like to know how I can get started to make my own designs for rhinestones and not have to buy from someone else, it gets pretty costly.

Most of the threads and messages I have read are from 2008 or 2009.
Are those the only softwares still available. Has there been anything
new like in 2010 or 2011 that I can purchase as a package, such as a cutter, stencil, etc.

What kind of software would you recommend for a beginner?

Thanks

Chrysti, the range of software that you can get is huge. From 100+ to over 5,000. If you are looking to start making your own transfers, then you will need to look into buying a vinyl cutter of some sort, so that you can begin making the rhinestone templates, instead of setting your transfers by hand. Most of the software is designed for that method, although you could print out a pattern and hand set (clearly not recommended). Take some time to consider what else you may want to do, so that you don't just get the lowest priced equipment and software, and then realize you don't have room to grow. The lower end will put you somewhere with maybe a Robo Craft type cutter and the Funtime Delux 2010 software. There are several forum members here who sell software and cutters. Most likely you will get responses from them to your thread, but search for rhinestone software and you will begin to see the tons available (ACS, DAS, WinPC, Bling !t, etc.).

Good luck.
