I HATE these kind of threads. All this does is give the general public a place to purchase shirts at the same rate that I do. Of course, I do not print customer supplied garments for that same reason. Why should someone who is in business ILLEGALLY have the same benefits of other printers who have PAID their taxes and PAID for their license to do business LEGALLY.

Sorry for coming out so blunt, but this type of threads get me going and gives the general public TOO MUCH INFO!

Please understand, there are not for profits, churches, etc., who use these suppliers. This is also a good way to obtain some samples easily, before signing up with a final choice wholesaler, because signing up *can* be a complicated time consuming process, only to find, you don't like the blank anyway.

Of course, I do not print customer supplied garments for that same reason.
Since you *don't* print on *customer supplied blanks* -- this type of thread will not have *any* affect on your business one way or another at all, so I don't really understand why it matters all that much.

Why should someone who is in business ILLEGALLY have the same benefits of other printers who have PAID their taxes and PAID for their license to do business LEGALLY.
That is a pretty unfair statement. While it is possible for someone who does not have a business license to obtain blanks at wholesale, that does not mean *all* people who buy from these companies are in business illegally. There are plenty more *legitimate* companies using these services everyday.

I personally am a registered business who uses Alpha Shirt. Alpha Shirt is in this thread and on this list. I us Alpha because it is convenient for me, as they are local and we do customer pick up, they carry what I need, and the prices are fair enough considering I can do same day pick up.

There is nothing illegal or wrong about that.

No need to apologize, it's your opinion, but your statements aren't entirely fair either, or accurate, imo.

Just thought I'd add some balancing points of view on this, as some valid ones do exist, while I do understand your general point of view, as well. :)

Have a good night.

If these are the prices you are paying for wholesale, then you are buying from the wrong places.

These sites do nothing more than buy from the same wholesalers you do, add a markup, and sell to the general public.

Alpha and Broder don't count because they are not true wholesalers anyway.

It seems a good idea.
i was a wholesaler of T-shirt, also i have not any licensing !
but i always keep myself to support to best products and service to my customer, even they are often small order. i believe , as a small supplier , i must keep every customer's order seriously, for i am living by the profit they gave me , even i dont have any license.

I emailed Pacific Sports and they told me in order to purchase t-shirts I would need a licenses.

I turned to blankshirts.com and they look promising. Has anyone bought from here? They're shirts are super cheap.

I was thinking of purchasing this, what do you do you t-shirt junkies think about that t-shirt? I'm thinking of purchasing over 35 shirts...

If you think blankshirts are cheap, wait till you get your license and can buy true wholesale. Blankshirt is a retailer.

The 5000 is just your basic, run of the mill shirt. The kind you would get at a festival, or one worn by your landscaper or carpenter.

Who is your market? That will dictate the type of tee you should be buying.

I've purchased from them in the past. I don't have a problem with their pricing and I do have a license, though they've never asked me for it. I'm not sure who the other poster is referring to when he says that blankshirts is a retailer. Broder is another company (they did ask for my license), their prices are higher than blankshirts, and you only get the good price if you buy 36 identical (same style, color & size) items. With blankshirts you get the case price for 36 shirts and you can mix & match all you want.

I'd like to know who it is that sells shirts at a "real" wholesale price because I haven't found them yet, and again I do have a license (vendor's or resale license).

I am referring to any website where anyone can visit and purchase merchandise

Broder is not a true wholesaler either. Nor is their sister company, Alpha.

TSC Apparel blows away pricing from Broder and blankshirts and any other retail online site.

What is TSC Apparels website address? I'll have to look and see if I can find it. It would be nice to be able to get "real" wholesale prices. Do you have any idea if they want minimum orders?

Thanks for answering so soon before.

TSC Apparel's website is TSC Apparel Collection

You just need to signup with them to get the wholesale pricing.

I don't *think* they have any minimums, although I've seen some wholesalers charge a small fee if the order is under $100, I can't remember if TSC does that or not.

I met a few of the folks from TSC Apparel earlier this year in Long Beach and they are really good people to work with.

Thanks Rodney. I'll have to check them out. I'm just learning how to screen print (still working my way through the instructional CDs) but it would be nice to know where I can get practice shirts at without spending a fortune. I've been making t-shirts with sublimation but they are so expensive to make... They look nice, but geesh. And I can only do white. Very limited. So I'm branching out. Thanks again for the web address.

I've bought from Alphashirt often (aka Broder) and I just wanted to mention to Loretta, if you do purchase from them again, you can ask them for case pricing on as few as even 10 shirts if you phone the order in.

Someone from here to me to ask bc they did and sure enough, it worked. They said sure, but they can't for online orders because someone has to manually adjust the order and the automated system just doesn't do that.

I know there are cheaper places/ways to get blanks, but for me, Philly is on my husband's travel path and he just stops in a picks up. Saves me nicely in shipping. That's a reason some others also buy from an Alpha type of supplier, even though they have the license.

Usually people try to have more than one supplier at hand anyway... just to be sure they can get what they need if one supplier is low/out, whatever.

Best wishes. :)

Not to sound "Punk Rock" but i press shirts in a garage with old press, hand made screen burner, pvc dryer rack and hand held craft dryer. i do small orders like 20-50 shirts at a time. i'm a breaking the law without a permit or am i good?

I guess that depends on what state you live in. Here in Ohio, yes you would be breaking the law without a resale or vendor's license to collect sales tax. And your business needs to be registered with the county and state.
