Layering/lining up StencilPro film paper on T-shirt

I have a design with 2 layers (for different colors) that doesn't come out perfectly lined up on the shirt.

No matter if I use tape, mounting spray, frame-they line up perfectly when I put the 2 film paper together BUT once I apply the paint for the second layer on the shirt it never comes out correctly aligned with the first one. (1 layer is for design, the other is to outline it) I wait for the first layer to dry and I don't think that I overstretch the shirt.

What can I do to have these to work? I have designs with 4-6 layers.

This is kinda crazy but this is what I use.

I had this little wood desk, took the top off, set it on the same stand in an upright angled position- leaning it against the wall and then I put nails in the stand to keep the table top from sliding off- then I got a grid mat from Michaels and 2 hinge/bracket things to hold the screen.

So, I set the screen on the table top, marked the edges, screwed in the bracket things so the frame sits right on them. Then I centered the grid on it and taped it to the table top.

U might be thinking- that grid looks so dark! But when I'm aligning the films, I have a darkroom bulb shining on it and the yellow lines of the grid glow so I can see them thru the screen.

Then, when aligning my film, I place it on the grid as perfectly as I can using just enough tape to keep it on the grid. Then I take longer pieces of tape and put them on the back side of the film- sticky side up toward me. And then I set the screen in the brackets and slap it against the grid so the big pieces of tape on the film stick to the screen. Whew!

I tried it yesterday and it was 103% freakin awesome. Everything lined up perfectly :D
