I was wondering if the epson nx400 printer is just as good as the c88. Im trying to get a new printer ASAP so ordering it online would be my second option. here at office depot their selling the epson nx400 for 60 or 70 dollars. So i was wondering if they can hold up to the task of making quality t-shirt transfers?

It would be comparable to the C88 except it has a flatbed scanner and LCD display screen.

Both use Durabrite pigment ink, which is what you want if you are pressing on garments.

Places like InkJetCarts Home Page also have refillable cartridges for it, which will save you a ton on ink costs. Not sure about any continuous ink systems, but you can ask around.

How well does your NX400 print colors? I got one the first of the year & have found that the colors look dark & faded. I love the way the colors (red, green & blue, especially) look vibrant on my screen, but they just look so dull when I print. My old Epson didn't print colors so they looked vibrant like on the screen, but it wasn't as bad as the NX400.

I am using the injetcarts heat transfer inks in a CIS & never printed colors with the regular ink so I don't know how it would have looked. I've tried adjusting the colors in print properties but don't see much difference. I don't know if it is the printer, ink, or what...Any suggestions anyone?
