We use them and were told they are made by Hanes but to SanMar specs

Are they not made by Port Authority?

 

Port Authority is SanMars house brand.

I don't know who makes them but in my opinion they are the best on the market in a 6.1 oz shirt.

 

I believe SanMar has there own specs for how the t's are made.

 

I like their shirts. Great quality.

more expensive than who? Are you comparing the same weight/quality of shirt? I don't think Gildan and Jerzee match the hand and weight of the PC61.

 

We have used Port and have been happy with quality and sizing options.

 

Their sizing options are unbeatable. Almost all of the colors they offer come in sizes up to a 6XL as well as having a youth companion to go with it.

As clsgraphics2100 the Gildan or Jerzees alternatives really can't quite come close to the feel and weight of the shirts.

 

The Hanes Beefy T is 6.1oz, but ring spun. I don't think the PC61 is so it would closer compare to a 6.1oz Gildan 2000. Talk to your SanMar Rep. They have great reps and I was told they are made by hanes.

 

You know I don't know who my rep would be. I've done a lot of business with them over the past 2 years just through their web site.

The only times I have called in were once to dispute a shipping charge and once to request case pricing for my account.

Since then, they have pretty much been one of my major sources of blanks.

 

I agree the PC61 is my favorite shirt to use right now. Never knew it was a Hanes.
The ONLY complaint I can make about them is that if Sanmar runs out of a specific size you can not get them from another vendor, unlike the Gildan 2000 that you can get from dozens of vendors.

I know this will jinx us, but in the last 7+ years working closely with SanMar, we haven't had that happen. Knock on wood.

Good point, Auggieboy. The PC61 is our first pick! .....although....

SanMar has had some goof-ups lately. A couple weeks ago one of our orders was missing 10 shirts, the most recent order was delayed by 2 or 3 days, when it was delivered, it came to us instead of going to our screen printer - even though the main label on the box had the screen printer's address as the drop ship location. (Actually, there were 3 labels on the outside of the box with 2 different addresses - weird!) Since the shipment was delayed to begin with, and this box came to us instead of the printer, we had to drop everything today to drive 45 minutes to the printer so the shirts would be ready to print. Not the end of the world, but a BIG hassle!

Tonight, I was placing an order with SanMar for approximately 60 of the CP80 and YCP80 caps, and they are out of stock from our usual warehouse. They have them in Florida, I think, but after all of this, I'm nervous about ordering from them. We need these caps ASAP, and I'm just reluctant to take my chances. Anybody else having the same issues? We'll have to order caps first thing in the morning to meet our customer's deadline.
