Corel X4 to Roland Cutstudio?

Hello,
I have Corel X4. I have my design and export to desktop as Jpeg. I open up Cutstudio and import the Jpeg. When I import it to Cutstudio part of my image is cut off. Sometimes to the right or from the bottom?
Also, why is it that I can only bring vectors to cut studio from X4 and not bitmaps or jpegs using the plug in from x4?
Could it be that I don't have the export Jpeg settings correct?
One more question.
How would you cut a Jpeg image with vector text in Cutstudio?
Thanks.

Loquito,

There is a plug-in for Corel X4 that you can download from www.rolanddga.com. Click on support then the support wizard. Answer the questions and then look under the Technical Downloads for the CutStudio plug-in for CorelDraw.

After you download this, read the "read-me" file for installation instructions.

This will allow you to send images from Corel right to your cutter - it sounds like you're taking a couple of extra steps.

I have this loaded but, am having trouble with it - it seems to get hung up in the middle. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Frankie (sorry, I had the user name rather than the personal name last time).

I solved my issue - it was actually a software thing. I got cutstudio with my Roland GX-24. The drivers and the Corel add-in were for CorelDraw up through X3 and I have X4. Once I uninstalled the X3 drivers and installed the X4 ones (that I downloaded from the website), it worked perfectly.

I just did my first cutout - I'm very excited.

Excuse my ignorance but do i need the cutstudio to do this with my roland or do i have to configure my cutter to read reg marks off my printed paper? i am lost and would love to contour cut my t shirt designs. please advise if u can help. I purchased sign tools 4 to go with corel x3 and when i send command to cutter it responds with test command, but it won't read my reg marks on the paper.am i missing something here????

If your jpeg is coming in at a different size it could be the resolution you are using when you export the file. Also when you import in to CutStudio you will have to position the image on the page. What size is the image and what size is the page in CutStudio when you import?
CutStudio only transfers vector graphics from Corel because its first use in a cutting program. You don’t cut images. The program transfers the cut lines and you have to import the image to print. If you had a jpeg file that needed to but cut you would have to trace/vectorize it first to be able to cut it. You wouldn’t want to trace a photo but could trace a one, two or three color logo and then just cut it rather than print and cut.
Hope this helps.
