But our prices are in local currency (multiply by 1.25 to get US) and every district and every printer have their own local prices and costs. Sooooo, not much we say is going to be that relevant to you, I guess!

Hi,
There is no perfect price to sell shirts. Each shop has it's own costs and markups.

Here are some prices for the Gildan 5000 dark shirts printed one color one side.
I made two price lists, one is a low price, and the second price list is more the average prices around the country.

Out the door, I always give the customer the total cost so that they don't have to do any math.

 

Sorry, I guess I'll also ask if those prices include tax for your area as well?

I get great response till I add tax on them... seems its like so many screen printers dont charge tax.

 

That what I do but I am above your average cost and people think I'm giving them a deal!!!!!!

 

Every state is different for tax but here unless a person has a resellers permit sales tax must be charged and a separate line on the invoice. Best to check your regulations in your state as some states don't pay tax on cloths.

 

Yeah for sure we should but more times than not, I get told their last screen printer just gave then a total straight price like 9 or 10 bucks. Was wondering if bidguru included said taxes in his guide.

I can't as its just too hard to try a figure out how for it go come out to an even number. Everyone should understand sales tax. In 7 years I have not had 1 person squabble about sales tax unless of course they were tax exempt and didn't give me a certificate. They can tell you their exempt all they want. I had a audit and any of them I didn't have a certificate for tax was due plus penalties. This is something you don't want mess with and follow the rules of your state.

 

I always charge tax u kess they can produce a tax exempt form. But nobody complains...plus one on tx man I know a shop that only charges 5.00 a shirt no fees one color including the shirt!!! Yeah sorry cant and wont fight for that business

I'm with David on this one. Time to refigure the price sheet.

 

On a white gildan 5000 we will print 1000 or more for $4 each with unlimited colors and still make bank on the deal.

With an auto and no import duty, I'd also be happy to flip 1000 white shirts for that!

How many colours do you have on your auto? How about for a second location - I'd be very interested to hear what do you add for a back print? (I assume, you charge a fixed sum for multicolour backs too)?

Would you consider 1000 white Gildan 5000's a "filler" job between bigger print runs, or a standard size regular order?

I'd love to get big and run my shop like a quality factory one day!

 

I always figure tax in but sometimes I tell the customer a flat fee and sometimes I just say "plus tax." If their total is going to be $11.40 including tax per shirt then I round it up to $12 to make it easy on them when collecting. But most of the orders I do are for parents shirts for sports teams so they are collecting for the shirts on the fly and an even dollar amount is easier for them then dealing with change. I've had a couple that I gave them the amount with the uneven tax amount like $11.40 and they charge $12 and just pay me the $12 per shirt. They like the no hassle approach around here.
