Older versions of corel won't open eps files made by newer versions of adobe.

Download the file on to your desktop. Make sure it downloads properly. The few times I've used them, they came in compressed (zip files). Unzip and transfer it to the desktop (or desired directory). Import into Corel. Alternatively, you can drag and drop on to your work space. Good Luck!

 

I usualy open them in ai and save as ilustrator 8 ( I have corel 12)amd just drug the file in to a new doc.

 

I've had problems sometimes with .eps files crashing my Illustrator after downloading...after it crashes and I reopen, they work just fine. Irritating if you had a window open and hadn't saved it

try saving down to Illustrator 10 via .eps. That worked for me last week... Im on CS5 and had the same issue.

 

I might get jumped on for suggesting this…you might try resetting Corel and see if that helps. Resetting will change it back to the default settings, so any custom setting will need to be redone. To reset , exit the program, hold down the F8 key and restart Corel, continue to hold the F8 key until you get the message about resetting the work space, select Yes.
Another thing…have you tried importing the file on your other computer? If it works there just save it there in Corel and take the new copy to the other computer. Just a thought.

 

Yeah, I was gonna try doing the work on my other comp then bringing it over this one (this is the comp that print from) and see what happens. I'll let you know what happens a little later today. Thanks for the help, appreciated

Popped right up for me...maybe just because I'm on a mac? No telling. I've got both saved down to an Illustrator 8 file if you want me to shoot it over...

 

I'm using Corel, at what point can I save it down to an earlier version?

 

I use Illustrator CS2, and have corel x2 on my other machine. I have to save all mine while in Illy, and then Corel has no problem opening them. If you want to PM me your email, I can shoot the files over to you and you can see if they still give you trouble.

Still means I've got to figure something out on this end to try not having these issues. I'd load up Illy and try that route if it wasn't so exspensive.
