I am using Image armor pretreatment for dupont inks on dark tshirts. Works great. But put more pressure on heat presd when curing pretreat. It is much cheaper then camtex pretreatment.

 

Suggest not using a "dark" pretreatment on light color garments.

In the uk here as well and I have been using the DuPont pretreament up until now. I'm now using the IA pretreament ultra for darks and IA light for sky blue tops etc as it won't mark the tops. Works fine and I'm finding I get a better white at a lower % of white ink put down also it's cheaper!

The Image Armor Light pretreatment is also effective for printing white and light color 100% polyester garments with cmyk inks.

Does pretreat really need heatpressing (curing) or is drying just fine? Can any pretreat brand be used for any ink? ( i.e IA for Dupont inks?)

 

As mentioned, one of the purposes of heat pressing the pretreat is to flatten the fibers of the garment for printing.

Image Armor pretreats can be used with Dupont inks.
Agreed that if you have another ink brand you should definitely check with the manufacturer or dealer of the pretreatment you want to use to see if it's compatible.

You're best to heat press it as that give's you a smooth surface to print on. For compatibility with Dupont you're always best to check with the relevant manufacturer

 

The Camtex DuPont is a universal PT which costs more to manufacture but it will do darks & colours. Some people water it down and use it on white tees also but I have never tried this.

You can use more economical PT solutions that are designed, one for darks & one for lights & white.

I've Switched to firebird pretreatment, Tried others but kept coming back to firebird. They have dark and light pretreat.
