Hello All,

I'm a complete newbie to printing world. I've tried my best to research "What-Is", I'm not naive to think I can compete or make money at the get-go or talk lingo like the Pro

1) I'm purchasing Anajet Sprint:
2) Is there anyone here who started like me?
3) What should I expect (I realise this is wide and can mean anything - please go ahead)

Thanks!

We all started there...

DTG is not desktop printing. It might look so but its not. I wish it was too.

Anajet seems to be in hiccup at the moment so keep watching the forumn for issues.

Expect pain and joy depending on how you treat your machine. Dont know how one can make money out of a machine that prints 1 shirt at a time.

How much money, well that depends on you.

Pains:
My Anajet Sprint
Print Engine Board
Print Head
Ink cost
cleaning fluid cost
wasted shirts trying to achieve a good print
Unhappy customers because they couldn't get their shirts because my machine was down
Anajet tech support telling me it will cost $2000 to fix my machine 1 year after having it completely refurbished.
Shirts totally fading by about 50% after 1 wash.

Joys:
I have a lovely silver and black doorstop.

I'm experiencing similar problems with the print head. Right now the machine is being repaired. Total cost, close to a whooping $1000.

I have an Anajet sprint and previously had a DTG HM1. In terms of build quality there is no comparison, the Anajet is far superior and from experience, a cartridge system may cost a little more in ink but the problems it cuts out are worth it.

As with any printing process it is a learning curve, sure there are problems so it's worth checking out the after sales support. I have to say so far, the Anajet reps in the UK have been great and open to any questions.

After talking with Anajet tech today I was just so frustrated..... and this is why,

When I went on vacation the Tech instructed me to flush my lines and fill my AnaJet machine up with cleaning fluid and turn it off….. Well, I had taken (4) 220 cart of new white ink out and all my cymk ink out, per my instructions, and replaced them with cleaning fluid.

When I returned after 2 months (which the tech knew I was going to be gone for) it was time to fire the machine back up. This is what happened.

The tech instructed me to toss my white ink and put fresh in???? I said "why didn't you tell me I could not load back up my hardly used 220 cart after 2 months, he told me that I needed to shake the white cart every two days. (he never said, “sorry I forgot to mention”) The tech did not tell me that before I went on vacation now I am out $$$$$$$ once again. Do you think that AnaJet would offer to sell me some white ink at a discounted price “NOT”
I have replaced lines etc. numerous times. I have a nickname for AnaJet tech support and my AnaJet Sprint which I cannot not mention……

Let me tell everyone, I have been so obsessed with maintenance on my machine, that my friends make fun of me, so it is not like I am not doing my job. AnaJet DTG Printer is nothing but T R O U B L E

This is my thought on DTG printers. DTG adds in my opinion should read…..

1. Easy to use just press a button

However before you purchase a DTG machine you MUST be able to give up some of your life doing the following and you MUST have a little nest egg set aside because of the following;

1. AnaJet DTG Needs a babysitter if left more than 12 hours at a time.
2. AnaJet DTG Needs at least 10 minutes a day in maintance, 5 minutes in the morning while having coffee and 5 minutes at night before happy hour, 7 days a week.
3. Must be able to have lots of money in a DTG fund for breakdowns and ink, because you will go through lots of ink, replace lines trying to fix your DTG machine.
4. If going on a vacation or should you get sick, make sure you have enough money to cover babysitter to come in a shake your ink and do a nozzle check.
5. If being away from your DTG machine more than 24 hours ALWAYS take your ink with you so you can shake the cartridges every 24 hours so they don’t go bad.
6. Always, Always, never leave your machine unattended for more than 24 hours, you may end up having to purchase a $800.00 new head.
7. Make sure you pray before you print, and pray that the machine will run correctly and not give you any problems.
8. MUST HAVE A HUMIDIFIER big enough to keep the room above 60 and you must be able to give up some time in the morning and at night to fill the humidifier up so the humidity does not fall below 45. Or you may end up having to purchase a new Head. Also God forbid that you become sick with the flu or whatever because you will need to call in your AnaJet DTG babysitter and pay them to do the above.
9. If you cannot maintain temperature conditions yourself, you MUST have a temperature control person at all times making sure the conditions are just right for your DTG Printer. Must have heat at least 68 degrees, and should you go on vacation, well that is your problem you are paying for heat just so your AnaJet DTG printer is happy and does not break down because of the temperature.
10. Must have a understanding family that understands your obsession with your AnaJet DTG printer.

GOOD LUCK TO YOUR NEW ADVENTURE WITH THE ANAJET DTG, BECAUSE YOU ARE IN FOR THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE……GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS….
Now with this being said, anyone would think twice about purchasing a DTG machine, if they had all this knowledge up front…. Honesty is the best policy……
There is a lot more you need to know however, thank God I know the designing end of it…..

There's no way that ink could go bad, only if not shaken but any good tech would know to tell you that the machine should have been in auto maintenance even with cleaning solution. The ink could expire too. Yeah being honest these days is like pulling teeth

The problem is that the anajets have 85% Epson parts in them and these Epson printers were known to have problems with head clogs, boards frizing, and chips not seting right...I personally don't have a problem with anajet or thier customer service...its just the way the machine was built..but you have to remember when these first came out it was cutting edge technology.. dtg still has a long way to go.

That's not really true, I had another DTG printer - again based in Epson parts and it was nothing but trouble, the problems didn't arise from the epson parts themselves - it was more down to the ink management system. I have had my Sprint for nearly two years and problem wise it's been for the most part hassle free when used in the right manner with regular use, maintenance and control over humidity etc.

I am not saying buy an Anajet...hell I wouldn't recommend one of their printers to my worse enemy. I have personally heard there sales reps tell blatant lies to potential customers (myself included). In fact I have been asked to leave their booth at trade shows before because I would call them out over the falsities they were telling people. Look at my signature and I think you will see what I recommend.

Anajet sells printers because they have a strong marketing department and high turnover of sale reps who spew BS just to move printers.

Then don't you think it would be fair to let these people know that you are a customer turned Chicago Sales Rep for All American?

I am not a sales rep but I do attend Trade Shows for Technical Support and I have never said any lie or anything false to potential OR current customers.

I have not met many if any sales reps who have used DTG in a real retail or production environment! That is a major issue imo. This is one reason why I travel to various tradeshows with Peter and the crew from All American. I am able to provide an inside look at the industry from the users standpoint to potential customers. There are many questions that come up that the sales reps just can't answer and I can.

It just depends, but Peter always provides me with plenty to eat and drink so I don't have to worry about that part :D

I like to go to the shows to network with other users, see the newest and greatest products for our industry and I have an AWESOME time with the guys at AA. We have all become great friends!!!
