So I came up with this logo about 8 months ago. I was wondering the internet today and happen to come across a design similar to my logo.

this is my logo.

this is what I found.

Drjays.com - COOGI - HEAD DRESS TEE - Urban Hip Hop Clothing

as you can see both designs are similar. Which is pretty crappy considering I didnt even know about their designs until today. so.. my question is.. are they too similar to use? can I be sued for this? will they think I took their idea?.

also, what do you think of logo? would you buy a tshirt with this logo on it?

Thank you.

Re: Logo question.

Reminds me of Indian (the motorcycle company). Whether or not it's a good logo will depend on what you're doing, but I don't like it myself. I'm not a trademark lawyer, so I don't know whether or not that's close enough to give you problems.

Re: Logo question.

It looks very similar to me, although they have been treated different in each case, but the esscence is basically the same. It might cause problems ( I think) specially if you are both doing the same kind of business (shirts).
Personally, I dont like the logo, I would suggest to re-work on it.

Re: Logo question.

It might be just me... but I don't see major similarities except for the fact they are both head dresses. I guess they are both positioned the same way, maybe you can play around with yours to position it differently and work on some details. But if you are serious about doing this as your logo, you may want to do a search for the design and ask a lawyer.

For starters, that is NOT the company's logo so you don't need to worry that much. The brand is Coogi and their logo is just a wordmark in rainbow lettering. The whole head dress motif is just a theme they are applying to their a certain line. Hope that helps.
