Hi All...

My white ink is low and im about to order some more...

I buy from Resolute, and noticed they sell Image Armor as well as Camtex Dupont inks ...

I notice that the Image armor is cheaper and also the white has a 35 second heat cure time vs 3mins with Camtex ...

From the price difference im assuming naturally that the Camtex product is better ?

Does anyone have any light they can share from experience on this ???

From the uk here as well. I used DuPont white and cmyk power ink from amaya up until early last year. I now use IA pretreat white and cmyk... i find the white and cmyk fantastic as it cures in 35 sec and washes really well also the cost of the ink is a massive help.

With the 35 sec cure I find that the colours are more vibrant as you are not cooking the colours to much. Overall glad I changed over.

I have just put the IA inks in my R-jet 4 but cant get a bright white print with it. I have tried the IA pre treat and my Firebird pre treat but can only get a grey. If I run several passes it gets brighter but not truly vibrant. Not sure what the problem is. If I tip a bit of ink straight onto a shirt its vibrant so not sure if its the printer not delivering enough ink even though it set to 100% in the rip.

I have R-jet4 and R-jet5 printers. They are almost same but R5 has WIMS and R4 doesn't. On R5 IA ink is working great and i like it but on R4 it did not worked for me and i have changed ink on R4 back to Camtex.
The problem was, i was loosing half of nozzles after few prints.
If you would like to know my opinion, i prefer IA inks because they are: 1 curing faster, 2 cheaper, 3 more durable.

I did a print today using IA and had the same image printed last year using the Brite ink.

Last year I was impressed with how much better the Brite ink printed compared to DuPont ink. Now printing with IA I am very happy because my prints are even better and dry fast (35 sec).

The added bonus is that I am using IA Ultra pretreat and don't need to worry about the percentage of poly and cotton in the material.

I put the IA white in my Anajet FP-125 that does not have wims and it killed the print head in a couple of weeks - blocked several channels that I could not clear. Non teflon head as its an R1800 / R2400 base printer.
I put it in my R-Jet 4 with iwics and I could only get grey prints. Having done lots of reading over lots of posts I am not sure whether that was due to me not shaking the ink bottle before I filled the printer as IA white appears to separate very quickly and needs daily agitation. I have had major problems with the printer since and found the replacement print head to be faulty. The new dampers also got clogged so am a bit worried that the separation of the ink in the dampers will cause continual clogging.
For the guys using this ink can you state how long you have been using it and if you have had any problems such as clogging or weak prints.
I purchased the inks from Smart Art Project in London after checking with IA that they were a verified distributor.I have no problems with the CMYK inks.
I now have a new print head to fit and face the conundrum of retrying the IA whites ink at the risk of blocking the system or head which also involves a full flush of the system or using the white currently installed. The washability, durability and cure time are the big attraction.
Any up to date feedback on the long term use of this ink is really appreciated.

Well Im about to swap over the inks ...
I still need to know drying times with a heat gun for shoes ? anyone :)
Also has anyone had success with printing to dark poly, ive read on Resolute and IA website that it is possible, but when you read their instructions it looks like its hit and miss ?

I ended up having to stop using it after a day,
It clogged my printhead on every pass. On watching it closely you could see the white cloud up onto the head causing the clogging. It improved slightly by turning off the fan, but still clogged after a couple of prints.

Both Resolute and Image armor were very helpful, but it ended with me going back to DuPont,

The issue I think is more to do with the old Tech with my Fast T-jet2 and epson head.

Ive gone gone over to using using a Brother GT-381 and as soon as my inks are depleted hope to try the new B-series Image armor inks ...

Generally speaking the inks that clog more are actually better inks. More pigment and more binder=more clogs.
Ink system maintenance is based on the ink used, not on what the printer manufacturer recommends for the standard ink.

I wipe the nozzle plate after around x number of prints (depends on the humidity), and flush all the colors every week. I used to do it every 2 weeks and I was getting some clogs, but with the weekly schedule it is now a rare occurrence.
