im not sure if this is the right catagory but anyone know of a stepper vinyl cutter that will do as well as a servo motored cutter? 15 inch rolls vinyl is what ill mainly cut but my stepper cutter seems to leave gaps. im wondering are all stepper motors like this bridgecutpro 720

Do yourself a favor and go for at least a 24 inch. If the 15 is just a stop gap, then unless budget is stopping you go for the 24. A lot of the fashion apparel films come in 19 inch rolls. Believe me, 15 just does not always get it. I find that I am doing more and more bigger designs. So glad I have the 24. I have a GCC 24 inch Jaguar IV.

i have a 24 inch cutter, might be bigger than that. i was wanting a cutter for small detailed cuts for decals since mine wasnt good at that. i havent had to use a bigger roll than 15 inches. i as told to get a biggerheat press than 15x15 and cutter but the reality is i havent had need for a bigger project. so, a good stepper or servo cutter that will do 15 inch cuts is what im looking for. wether i end up buying bigger is another thing.

A servo motor is better than a step motor. However, the step motor should not leave gaps in your cutlines. If you are referring to dotted cut lines (which make weeding difficult and sometimes impossible) this can be due to several factors.

I have not personally used your specific cutter, however other cutters do exhibit the same symptoms and the solutions are below:
Blade may not be sharp enough. Protection strip may need to be replaced, blade holder may need to be replaced. All cutters will require some maintenance and upkeep including replacement of consumable parts.

Also if you had placed your thread in the vinyl cutting/cutter section, I think you would get more responses to your question.
