Cutstudio Updates?

Is Roland CutStudio being updated?

My GX24 Camm1 is probably 6+ years old and it seems the software is too, its a real pain as Corel, illustrator etc are marching on and it no longer recognises half the input formats I use or get from customers.

Can you be more specific about what you are getting from your customers or what problems you are having? According to Roland the newest version of this software does work with even older machines. My experience with them is you can get updates within the software? Have you spoken with or emailed Roland support about updates or upgrades? You can see available updates here-

CutStudio had a few updates over the years. The latest version is a 2.xx and it was introduced with the GS model. The great thing is that it also works seamlessly with the GX model.

The issue is with file formats marching on. Cutstudio has very very limited import formats and they date back to 6+ years ago. Every time AI or Corel update they revise their formats which no longer work with cutstudio.

My serial number isn't recognised

I have managed to run the updater to get V2.00 which is better than before but can't find any later version that that.

Okay well then you have a couple options. Both Illustrator and Corel you can save files to earlier versions. The only thing to keep in mind in both cases is that some things are only good in the new. I used a Roland XC-540. If I was worried about the vectors and/or colors I could always rasterize the art and just have my vector cutline (then you could easily save that copy as an older version). The other thing would be to buy the newest version, it is $69 though so that's a business decision.
