Default Problems printing supercover waterbased on hoodies

Hi all,

Usually I can find my answers just by scouring the forums but I can't find any solid help for this one so I am coming to you all for your wisdom

Basically, I keep getting a blur on my image after I p/f/p. It is like it goes out of register. I am pre-shrinking my hoodies for about 10 seconds and letting them cool after before I do the first coat. I then flash for about 5 seconds, and hit it again. I think flood my screen ready for the next hoodie.

I'm printing with Permaset aqua supercover white on Gildan 50/50 hoodies. I am using 43T/110 mesh. I have pretty much no off-contact.

Should I be pre shrinking for longer? Flashing for longer? I'm concerned that flashing for longer will shrink it more!

I also print by pulling the ink, this is how I do my shirts too which seemed to work up until now. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't - it's costing me a fortune!

I would really appreciate the help, I'm meant to be sending this order out tomorrow and now I need to buy more hoodies cos I've wrecked about 5 of them!!

Thank you in advance T-Shirt forums for your help and wisdom

Use "Spray Web Adhesive" of some kind, and lots of it, respray almost every time you load, to hold these down. I hate arisols, but they're pretty much the only way to hold hoodies down.

Today I just printed some Hanes 90% cotton 10% poly hoodies with Permaset SC white. I did 3 hits with a 200 mesh, though was passable enough after 2 hits. I didn't get any blurring or reg problems, and I did p/f/p/f/p.

I'm not sure if 50/50 acts different that 90/10.

I did clean the platens and put down fresh Tekmar tac. Looks to me like pretty much have to clean the platen after every hoodie as they lint it up so fast.
