Default We need a water base (white underbase) screen print ink that is compatiable with the dtg (dupont) cmyk!!

Does any screenprint ink manufactures/screenprinters have a white underbase ink they would reccomend as compatible with dupont cmyk dtg inks...?

On the diy side we are looking to screen our underbase and then use the printer for the color (cmyk) similar to the brother 541 setup (swinger)

Tired of clogging printheads and the maint/cost requirred to jet white ink.. we figure this to be an economical replacement eliminating pretreat and the white ink jetting nightmare of dtg with the addition of only 1 screen... all suggestions would be appreciated..

thanks in advance..

Additionally what screen mesh size would one suggest for printing the white underbase in order to achieve a thin coat of white to avoid a pooling effect once the cmyk is printed?

I have heard that matsui 301 ho is a good water base white? any other thoughts suggestions on a better brand?

Well this is kinda a shot in the dark, but according to the website, the ink is a discharge white that they are using for a base plate.

Discharge white inks usually are printed from about 86-110 mesh. They are claiming that there are special products to bond to the DTG inks. Not sure if they just have extra binders or what.

Quite honestly, this looks a little odd to me. Usually waterbase inks, especially whites can be notorious for drying in screens. You really don't have a lot of area to properly work and the screen looks like to folds up to a 90 degree angle. Weird.

Anyhow, to answer the original question, any of the major ink manufacturer's should offer a discharge white. I would try that.

I would be very interested to hear some feedback on this system from end users.

Good luck,
