Default Roland SP 540 V not connecting to my computer

*just changed my Print heads. Did it all myself(pat myself on the back). Good test print.

Never used this printer. I am trying to connect to my computer.
I have a old dell running widows XP.*

I have Versaworks & Flexi Sign pro.
It was used by the previous owner. He said it worked fine for him.

I cannot find the IP on the printer. And its not connecting automatically. I played with the submask etc. But I am very confused because I am a Mac user. PC is so foreign.

Can anyone give me some advice. All this work to not being able to connect to the computer is a bummer.*

I need help.

You can run this printer on all Windows, 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, Win XP.
Windows XP is very slow. All you need is a SERIAL to USB CABLE for your printer.

No, search the internet forSERIAL to USB CABLE

For 10 - 12 dollars, you can buy a cable like this.

You can use ethernet. In Versaworks under settings-printer settings you will set it there. It needs to be a static ip address. You may be able to set that in your admin panel for your network.

On the printer pad press menu, then go down to system info and press the right arrow then the down arrow to network. IP address should be there, if not you can add one.

In RVWs go to printer and you can add the printer there using the IP address.

This printer does not have that option.
On the SP 540 v version you have to use Roland-Print server, NetTool.
I have it on my computer, But I am still having problems.

The IP Wizard is not installing
