Default Plotter/Cutter blade seems to cut only on one side of vinyl

New to vinyl cutter work....Followed instructions, may have just bought a "less than ideal" product....price seemed great...and I guess you may simply "get what you pay for"

All that being realities......the cutter is set up and will send a design to cutter.....it "seems" as though the "cut" is ok at the "home" position....as the cutting tool moves farther from the (right side home position) the blade no longer makes the same depth cut on the material....

Is there a way to correct this?

VEVOR 53" plotter....Signmaster software

I have been told this is a "Private Label" cutter....made by others and NOT a "VEVOR" just sold under this name.

HELP!!!!

Cutting strip? Is this a replaceable strip? Where is this located....this is a brand new machine, the problem existed straight out of the carton received in....what/where do I replace this strip?

A few things to check. The cutting strip is where the blade runs below your vinyl. Make sure it is flush. Make sure the blade holder is seated correctly and the blade depth is just peeking out of the holder.

Since it is a new machine, contact the vendor you purchased it for. It should still be under warranty.

Jumped too fast....found a video on US Cutter about replacing the strip. Is this potentially a bad strip from manufacturer? I can order a new strip, no worries....I only took off the shipping/protective masking recently, so the number of "cuts" on this cutting strip is less than 10....

Potentially defective from the get go?

Could be. See if they will replace something under warranty.

I'd check to see if the cutting head is running parallel to the cutting strip first, over the full width of the machine. Maybe something got jolted during transit and knocked the head or guides out of kilter.

Great suggestion.....I did a manual test run of the blade across the cutting strip......it does move slightly towards the rear of the strip, never "leaves" the cutting strip area and the move is very VERY minimal.....

To me, it seems as though the aluminum strut...the "body" that holds the cutting strip and the ends together is kid of "tweeked" slightly.....like there is a dip or angle to the cutting surface after the cutting blade moves past....say 10-12" from "home"

I have tried different cuts.....starting "home" in a mid position, and the blade does NOT contact the substrate (vinyl) at all...you can see a ghost image, never a cut.

I can adjust the blade depth in this 'Mid" cutting position and it will cut there....just will not allow me to set a depth at normal "home" and cut the width of the vinyl.

Really anoying!

Ideas?
