Thumbs up Help with Gildans, is it good for fashion?

How do you get your heavy tees. I got some Gildans with my printed designs on the shirt even though they were 100% cotton they just did not feel heavy enough, was too light. I need a quality heavy quality blanks in Uk pls for fashion And im quite surprised a lot of people go for Gildans.
Even the £1 t shirt i bought from Next are thicker.

And also the DTG transfers is not sharp on the tees.

Pls help is needed. Am new at this.

thanks

Which Gildan t did you use, there are a few different weights.

I mainly use Hanes Beefy T Ringspun 215gsm as its soft, heavy and good quality. If I use Gildan it would be the Ultra Cotton (GD002) 205gsm.

Thanks guys, progeny, it says on the label 100% preshrunk gildans thats all am not sure where to obtain the information from.

Also they are whites i dont know if coloured gildans are thicker than whites ones.

Also are they good for fashion or have you any better ones in mind?

thanks.

Whites are generally lighter than colours, but not by much. It should say on the label if it's 'Heavy Cotton' or 'Ultra Cotton'. Have a look on Gildan website or a wholesale site such as Ralawise.com for info.

I would say they are good for fashion, there are a few retail brands that use them. Like I said a few posts ago, I use Hanes Beefy T or BBLeisurewear make excellent quality t-shirts.

So that's the Heavy Cotton GD005, white - 175gsm and colours - 185gsm.

The heavier one is Ultra Cotton 205gsm, a heavier t-shirt, but still not as heavy as Hanes Beefy or BBL

Ralawise do the Gildan and Hanes.

Ultra Cotton are £1.70 each at singles price (coloured)
Hanes Beefy T are £3.10 singles (coloured)

BBleisurewear do an interlock t-shirt but I can't find my price list right now.

hanes beefy have in my opinion a really nasty elasticated collar and are well overpriced. I use gildan ultra's for basic shirts (around a quid each at btc) and either continental or american apparel for the higher end fashion stuff.

they are amongst the most expensive but then they are one of the best, alot of the top end lines use either them or continental. im not sure what we paid for the AA's we have (lost the pricelist and the hardrive it used to live on!) but im sure they were a similar price to continental, there earth positive organic range start at £2 each, they are not a heavyweight material but are so well made/weaved that they dont need to be, they (AA and continental) print lovely with a dtg as well.
It all comes down to what your intending on selling them for and who your market is, i would be pretty upset if i paid £15 - £20 for a printed up fruit of the loom tshirt i can tell you that much

THANKS GUYS i got both the hanes and BBleisurewear and i must say are better quality, the BBleisurewear was even heavier at 220 gsm, thats the heaviest i have come across don't even think the AA ARE THAT HEAVY. Anybody knows any shirt heavier than 220 gsm?

Also some shirt use ounces eg 6.01ounce how does that compare to gsm?
