Unhappy Re: Anyone going to the Print and Promotion Exh ?

Well i'm extremely p'd off tonight, my wife has booked work for tomorrow so i can't go! She told me this morning.

She claimed she knew nothing about the exhibition even though she was supposed to be looking after the kids and had the date crossed out in her diary! I even showed her the pass the other day and told her i was meeting you lot there. She says she booked the work last Wednesday but we talked about the exhibition on Thursday and she did'nt mention anything then.

Needless to say i'm not talking to her at he moment, and she's got the cheek to keep asking what's wrong with me.

Might not talk to her all year for this.

Anyway have a good time and get me some free samples if you don't mind

Lee ( a p155ed off version)

I attended yesterday.
Have to say I was fairly impressed.
But I was shocked at how limited it was as far as screenprinting was concerned - no ink manfacturers, only a single carousel manufacturer - M&R who I commend for their flawless sales technique, which made short work of any of my concerns - both financially, and in terms of the equipment spec.

I was hoping to see Kippax and the Hopkins BWM representative there, and a Union Ink representative from Kent - but all no shows. I guess I should have checked the floor plan in advance.

If you're an embroiderer you'll be in heaven.

The girl at the Skinnifit stand was a delight, along with the guys at International Insignia.

I learned alot yesterday, so I would thoroughly recommend you attend, and if not this year, then definately the next one.

I was also shocked of the scale of the NEC, that place must make China look small.

Hi Anthony
I have attended several shows but sadly am going to miss this one due to unavoidable commitments.
Note you are in screen printing? What is it that you do/produce?
Afzal.

At the moment, I am only a very small time concern.
However the screen printing I do is for the textile industry.
I have registered Blake and my logo as a trademark, and produce my own illustrations and designs on t-shirts and hoodys as part of a fashion brand I am building.
On the side I am now also getting into commercial printing for bands etc., but my main aim really is to produce my own designs and build Blake as a reputable alternative urban brand - stocking shops nation wide shortly and getting agood web following.
Im only really getting started up, after a period of roughly 5 months subcontracting to another screen printer to rpint for me and investing in research and development to set up my own business.
How about yourself?

It is very nice to know you and learn about what you do. Sounds very interesting. The very best of luck in your undertaking.
I am into the souvenir market and have serviced a niche with my own exclusive designs. As is inevitable in this area, immitation and cheap copies are cropping up all over the place. But so far so good!
I am looking to get out of London and touch Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Who knows.

We went to the show but were disappointed. We're very small - only recently started. We are Subli & vinyl printing only. Specialise in the Dog world at the mo (as we have Siberian Huskies too). The show didn't have anything for Subli apart from Xpres. Vinyl had a couple of manufacturers. I was hoping to get a few ideas.

Does anyone know if there are shows for Subli stuff in the UK?
