Printing some double sided youth and women's tees with the viper one and my neo. Question is, is it Ok to pretreat and press the front side, and then pretreat and press the back side without threading? So the front is sort of getting heated twice. I can thread over my smaller 11x16 (i think that's the size of it) lower platen when curing the ink, but the problem with doing that for pretreat is that the viper one sprays 15 inches wide no matte what, so I end up with 11 inches that are dry and a few inches on the outer edges of the shirt that are soaked still. When they eventually air dry the pretreat there (usually landing on sleeves and seams) end up staining it with a salty whitish stain. So I basically Need to just lay the shirt on my normal 16x20 platen and pretreat, press one side, flip the shirt, pretreat, press the other.

Before I got my heat press caddie I couldn't thread shirts so I had no choice but to PT both sides at once. Never had any problems doing it that way...tho threading it makes life so much easier! Use some masking tape on the edges of the shirt to keep the PT off. It is an extra step but will eliminate your issues with outer edges.

i always pretreat then print one side, followed by pretreat and printing the 2nd side. reason is due to "IF" there is a mistake in the first print, i haven't wasted pretreat and time on the 2nd side. also, i try not to disturb the fibers of the print area prior to printing. your method of threading should work fine, though.

eh the front prints look like crap. not sure if it was because the pretreat got double hit or what. backs are perfect. Looks like I am going to just have to develop some kind of cover for smaller sized shirts so the viper doesn't spray any wider than my small platen size on them.
