Your wholesale price

I've searched through past threads and haven't really found a suitable answer. Our business has yet to start yet, but I'm working on wholesale pricing at the moment. If it's not too personal, I'm wondering if some of you could let me know what you're charging wholesale. I understand it's a bit of a private question, but I want to be sure our prices will be competitive with other companies.

We're looking to market towards a Hot Topic sort of niche and will probably be charging between $8.50 - $10 wholesale depending on order size. Also what do you charge for hoodies and do you price zip-up hoodies differently than pullovers?

Thanks

With me, my wholesale prce is kind of determined by the retail cost. If I am selling a shirt for 22.00 retail ill probably sell it to them for about 8-10 bucks, thsis way it gives them a good mark up plus a little extra to play with.

I also do sell zip ups at 10 dollar difference than pullovers, depending on work that was put into the sweaters.
Wow $10 dollar difference on zip-ups. Both for retail and wholesale I was thinking of having about 2 dollar difference. Maybe I need to widen the gap a bit.
You can find some information about pricing for retail/wholesale here: retailers related topics at T-Shirt Forums
Based on our retail relationships and what I have learned from attending the tradeshows, most buyers expect you to use the "keystone mark-up" which is 2.2. I back into the wholesale price based on what I know they can get for retail in a particular market. For example, if MSRP is $44.00, you have to sell the shirts at wholesale for $20.00. You might find some retailers that make it easy and just go with 1/2 of MSRP for your wholesale price.

if i were to put the exact same design on a zip up as i would a pullover then the difference would probably be closer, but since more work goes into the zip up and is more of the designer type then it is a higher mark up.
Ah alright I see. Thanks you were both really helpful.

Keystone is 100% markup, not 2.2.
