DTG: 1 year warranty, except for print head and ink delivery parts.

After that, you dont pay a service fee, but only pay when you need a service. The machines are so basic though that most of the problems you can fix yourself. I don't pay any extra for technical support even after 2 years of ownership.

$1120 monthy service fee!? WTF. What exactly do you get from this maintenance fee? After a year of paying that you could have gotten yourself another DTG or Brother!

On my HM1 it came with a year warranty, but has since expired. I agree with Zhenjie that most everything that I could have a problem with, I would most likely be able to fix it myself :) Once you get to know your machine, well mine anyways, they are pretty easy to work on. I am only giving my opinion on the HM1 as that is the only machine I have used :)

I have owned Kornit printers for 2 1/2 years and have never had to pay a penny for a maintenance fee. In fact a couple of days ago we had a problem on one of our machines caused by human error and had full support at no cost form 2 Distributors, SPSI and Hirsch, as well as Lyle form Kornit America. The problem was resolved quickly, easily and without cost.

I bought an out of warranty T-Jet. I have had Zero problems with getting the info that I need to maintain and repair my equipment. USScreenprint has been there when I had a question with free answers.

That said... I have read tons of info available on the net. I already knew how to make printable files. I understand electronics. I am not intimated with tearing my DTG printer apart and putting it back together again.

It is what you make of your situation. I do the work. I buy the parts. I get free advice. When this does not work, I'll be better able to inform you of the costs.

If I need a refurb... Fast T-Jet Service and Parts Center

I have to say that we did get good service from SPSI as well. They did struggle some with Kornit.

Ron, maybe you could scan and post a copy of the warranty or service agreement.

The new Fast T-Jet Blazer Pro and Blazer Express Printers come with a one year warranty from US Screen. The only items not covered are the print head and dampers. The refurbished Fast T-Jet 2 and T-Jet 1 printers that we sell come with a one year warranty that Equipment Zone covers. Extended warranties are offered and the pricing would depend on which printer and the number of years. All the T-Jet printers come with free lifetime unlimited technical support, by phone or email, to the original purchaser.

Out of warranty repairs are offered by us and by US Screen. We stock a very large inventory of replacement parts. What we have found is that the majority of customers machine problems can be diagnosed over the phone (or email) and, if needed, the repair parts sent out and the customer installs them. We have a service center here where owners can ship in their printers for repair or drive them in to be repaired while they wait.

Thank you everyone for replying and sharing the info. as this might be one of the factor in deciding what machine to buy in future.
However, we still need some Brother , Anajet and Flexi owners to share their info. C'mon guys ! Thanks again.

Mate i would be getting out of that contract quick smart. Looks to me like they want a very quick dollar or should I say quite a few dollars and then you pay labour on top. Very expensive. For that amount I could replace a Print Head, Main Board, Dampners, Wiper balde, Pump asemble and capping station, encoder strip and have change.

If you can troubleshoot all that you listed yourself, you should be in technical services and hiring yourself out.

I have been brought up around electronins with my father being a electrical technician by trade and having his own office equipment business for many years. It is not really that hard if you are that way minded. However in saying that I find very hard to work with wood and all i can do with wood is burn it where others can built a house or make a master piece, so it is all what you are willing to learn and take in. I would suggest that if you do own a machine like these do learn as much as possibe as hwen you do have a problem it may be minor but still cost you alot where you could have fixed your self very cheaply. Labour is a killer these days and the tech guys will charge you form the time they leave there office until they get back to there office.
