I have an image that i done in illustrator and i want to take it to photoshop to add some color and effects to it. How can i make it so that I can select different parts of the images in photoshop. Right now it will only select the entire image?
depends on what the image is - is it vector line art in AI? Are the parts all ungrouped? different layers? - once you import it in photoshop it will be rasterized and likely will be one object on one layer unless you have it on seperate layers in AI - save it as .psd in AI and preserve layers - that will likely be the best bet.
can you post a visual of the line art?
a great tutorial can be found here. www.motorsportsillustrated.com it will take you through the steps of outlining the vehicle in illy and coloring in photoshop. it is well worth the money. let Jeri know I referred you
She has been profiles in HotRod magazine and designs for some top name racers.
