Hello all. We have a men's cargo pants clothing company (PIR Clothing Co.) We produce cargo pants and put logos on one of the pockets. We decided we would look into buying a DTG printer to do the logos ourselves because of the expense and poor service (long waits) of contracting someone else to do the logos for us. We thought, to help justify the cost of the garment printer, we would also expand into offering custom t-shirts and other apparel. We actually have a printer on order but after going through training...are having 2nd thoughts of if we choose the right machine. We are looking for feedback from others who have owned their printers for a while to see if they are "still happy" with their selection. What is the worst problem they have had with their machine or the process of printing, what do they like best about their machine, and would they buy the same machine again if they could do it over?

I would rather not say specifically which company it is at this point. However, I have done quiet a lot of research on AnaJet, Brother, Kornit, DTG Veloci-Jet, and the HM1 and here are the conclusions I have come up with. AnaJet has a new machine but not sure about reliability. Also, ink costs seem high. Brother seems to make good machines but customer service seems to be poor and they also have high ink costs. Kornit machines are very expensive and there seems to be concerns about their print image quality. However, their all-in-one system with pre-treatment saves time and their ink is very inexpensive. Veloci-Jet and HM1 seem to have the best overall customer satisfaction, owners say they are happy with print quality and ink costs seem to be reasonable. So, those two are the way I am leaning towards. If I am missing a good brand/machine that I should checkout or if there is a problem I am not aware of regarding the last two machines I listed please let me know.
Thanks.

I guess I will have to check into that. Not sure where to start. If a company came to me and asked me to put their logo on our cargo pants (say 20 pair) who makes the transfers and would that be cheaper per logo than if we used an apparel printer. I am guessing the cost of doing it ourselves with an apparel printer would be about 50 cents. We have used a screen printer in the past but that has cost us between $4 and $6 each, depending on how many we do at one time. That was the reason we were looking into doing it ourselves.
