So i just washed out my screen and for some reason I keep on having problems with this one design and the D in the text of the design always comes out messed up. So I try something new, so I dont have to use another screen or wash out the one i just used. After I washed out the image and saw the part of the design that is messed up I cover the messed up part with emulsion and is currently waiting for it to dry. Once it dries im going to put my transparncy back on it and reburn it. And see if it will wash out correctly this time. Will this work? Should I use the same burning time? And how long should i wait for the emulsion to dry? (I only covered the messed up part of screen..not the whole screen again)

i guess it's worth a try... Whenever a screen doesn't turn out for me, I just start all over and find out why the image wasn't turning out. It could be something related to improper exposure - what are you using to expose? Also, if you are only exposing the small part of the screen again, it shouldn't take you very long to do so (depending on the unit you have). You also have to keep in mind that the emulsion under where you put the new emulsion has already been pre-exposed, so it probably won't work out too well.

Also, it's going to be difficult to get the image back in the exact same spot, so even if it does work, it will be a little off most likely.

I would say you bite the bullet and reclaim the screen. It almost never pays off to take short cuts with screen printing.

Sorry if this wasn't what you wanted to hear, but i hope it works out!

well said. in the sceme of things it is not expensive to reclaim and expose it again. last week i shot 4 screens before getting it right. come to find out it was a little piece of crap that was on the glass in my exposure unit
