Hello. Im new to doing silk screen printing. I just want to ask if I can use normal household fluorescent lights to burn the silkscreen? Thank You!

If you have a long time, you need uv output. Try halogen lamps, black lights or similar for starters.

You can go on you-tube and find out how to make a cheap screen burner using fluorescent lights... I still use mine and I built it for $70.00.. but the burn time is 13 min.
But all I have is time... And I still have money in my pocket..

Part of the coating inside a household bulb is uv reducing. Exactly the opposite. Strong high uv gives the best and fastest exposure. Even halogens need the glass off if you're using a construction light homey setup.

I did more than a few exposures a long long time ago with cool whites--totally agree with the above. You can, but you won't want to once you try nearly anything else. A halogen worklamp is a cheap and far more effective alternative, especially considering you can buy one for about what a fluorescent shop light will run you.

Go ahead! those work. I got 3 double lamps & put them together, the glass distance is 4" & the exposures r 6' on a 180 white mesh. Most of my orders r 1 or 3 colors. The money you save
you could put it on another piece of equipment or mats you need. Your business will show you the path.

Will the blacklights with that sort of blue coat work too? will it make a difference? thank you!
