I just bought a Roland vinyl cutter (used) for my wife, and there werent any cd rom with any software with it.
I`ve tried to get some help from roland, but the "us" Roland couldnt help us (since we`re from europe), and the "local" Roland hasent answered (its just been a couple weeks)

We have the cutter computer, and the vinyl. The only thing missing is the right program. We dont want to spend a fortune on several programs, we just want to find a easy to understand, and easy to use program to get started and cut.
We dont have any experience, adn this is just a hoby, so price of the program is more important than "special" functions.

I`ve tried signgo on two machines, (trial version) but on both PC`s they dont work. When I trie to cut, it just crash, and I have to restart..



So I would be happy if I get any tips on good programs, so we can start on the cutting soon.

I use a plugin for Corel on my graphtec cutter that I like a lot and very easy to design and cut with out moving programs. But it doesn't work on my bigger cutter. I rarely use it but I use a cheap program for it called make the cut. It's easy to use and able to insert my Corel art into it.

Yesterday I played a bit with Make the Cut, and it seamed ok.
But I cannot get it to comunicate with the cutter. I dont know if they have the driver for Roland CX 300...

And I noticed that Roland dont have any driver for windows 7 64bits..

I`m trying to find the roland in the printer section in windows, but I cant find it. So I dont know if I`m able to instal it properly...
Could it be because its windows 7, 64 bits?

here is a link to Roland site and has drivers for the cx300...the link says the gx 24 but you have to use the drop down menu on the page to see the cx300/400/500

Hi

This is the latest update on this isue;

I downloaded Sign Cut, and got it to work
But somehow I`m not 100% satisfied with the software, I feel its missing the final touch..

I also have tried Sign Go, but everytime I`ll try to cut, the whole program frezes and shut down.

I would like to try the programs that follows the Roland cutter, but since I bought it used, I dont have them..
I tried to contact roland usa, but they couldnt help me, and the local roland havent answered my email...

use Cadworx Live it's a program that stahls does. it's a free program if your buying from them and if not they have a free trial anyway. I've used it for years and its just what i need. i cut both stickers and clothing vinyl on it. and it's super easy to use.

I don't think Roland has a program for making signs. I bought my CX300 new and it didn't come with any design software. I've used Vinyl Master Pro for years and really like their newest edition. Runs around $ 700 I think for the basic program. Works fine with the Roland cutter.

I know this is an old thread but I dont want to PM you unannounced. I am looking for some assistance with Vinyl master Pro.

I have a font called bull pen 3d and I would like to cut it out in two colours with the shadow/3D effect as one colour and the main font in another.

BUT I cant get it to work in VM at all.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I have a Vinyl Express Panther, I need a software for it.

Here are my choices.

Vinyl Master: 2014 LTR V4.0, or Pro V4.0, or XPT V4.

WinPCsign Basic 2009

I do have a budget I am trying to stay in. I do have Coral Desgin on its way.

Please any info on this would be greatly appreciated

I believe that there is an add-on for Illustrator (if you use this) which works with Rolands.

Vinylmaster would be the way to go unless you need the rhinestone capabilities of WinPCSign.
