I'm doing a printing job for a friend of mine, free of charge. As of now, I'm not registered as a business, etc. Are there any wholesalers out there that charge tax on orders, rather than gathering tax information and reporting it to the IRS?

Wholesaler don't sell retail. You cannot even purchase from them without the vendor or reseller's license. You can buy shirts close to wholesale from BlankShirts.com - Wholesale Name Brand T-Shirts and Apparel and a few other places. Check with the clothing vendors on the left.

there are many that claim to be wholesale that dont ask for info, jiffyshirts.com, shirtsupplier.com, etc.
their prices are not true wholesale though

I think ShirtSpace - Wholesale Blank T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hats, and More! is another one. Broder Bros might be another one but I think I had to submit a copy of my license to them.

I always wondered how you're supposed to buy if you're in a town with no sales tax on whatever you're selling. Would the wholesaler accept a copy of the tax law?

I think in that case they would want a copy of your business license.

Lben is correct. We don't have sales tax for clothing. The wholesaler just ask for a copy of our business license.

Also, Bodek and Rhodes lets you start an account and even buy for awhile. Eventually they ask you for your license.

It's really not that hard to get the license and federal ID. When I signed up via the states website, they filled out both for me. So I received the state license and the fed id.
