Hello

I tried my first job on black tees with white underbase and bright green on top. I could not get consistent results with the green. Any advice?

The green would look ok here and there but splotchy in other spots.

Underbase white went on nice and flashed well??

Well is it a manual press ? are you sure the underbase was dry enough? was there enough off contact ? these questions will help me figure out whats going on and help you better? what kind of green are you using? is it a thick opaque color? What was the mesh ?

what about your mesh?

I would use a 140 for the white
and a 160 for the green.

sometimes I use a 160 for white
and 180 for top color

How about your squeegee blade?
A nice sharp blade does wonders for that top color.

Did you hit the underbase twice? If it was a real transparent green you'll probably need to hit the underbase a second time after you flash to make sure you have a nice, bright white for your overprint.

I will try to tweak. I'm thinking it was the flash. It is manual press, off contact was good, 110 mesh on both, I only hit the white once.

Plastisol or waterbase and what brand and series?

I've used plastisols where a single coat of white underbase, on black shirt, on 110 mesh is more than enough. On 150 2-3 strokes.

I had this same problem about a month back with a magenta top color. My problem was due to the pink being very trancparent and not very opaque at all. What kind of green is is it? I have heard greens and pink do this often.

Use a 110 mesh on white ink, try to use Wilfex Quick White ink if you have it, that works the best I have seen, Very Opaque, if the top color isn't that Opaque and transparent probably need to print-flash-print-flash the white underlay, use a 160 mesh on the top color,
