Hi guys,
we had some problems with clogged white print heads. I think that we had a problems with low humidity and old maintenance cartridge (yes, it has expiry date :))
But I heard about one big printing company, using Brother GT3 too, that soak regularly white print heads in "something" (I suppose - maintenance solution) to keep it 100% quality printing.

Did you heard about it, or how do you look after your white print heads?

I am new to the formum, and have a GT 381 cost of running and buying supplies, print heads, carts, cleaning solutions etc. is killing me. I am a part-time at home business. Making enought to just cover all costs. Have had to buy 2 print heads so far. Any suggestions would be helpful

I've used this wash kit, and it works:

IJHEADWASH

I don't suggest using the cup they give to set the head on while your flushing, as it's a little too small and could lead to a damaged head oddly enough, but the plunger/filter/ and wash all worked great and freed up a clogged head for me.

It wasn't a soak, just a flush though.

Thanks so much actually just found that site and was wondering about that. I still have the last print head. May try to get this and clean it out and see next time! Thanks again.

I'll stress the importance of setting aside time to approach the head cleaning patiently. Worth the time and money certainly if you can recover an otherwise dead head.

I've heard, there's also some sort of cleaning/refurbishment through Brother if you're still under warranty. We're not, so I didn't look much into it.

Thanks so much, I am still under warranty but not for print heads. But will look into cleaning refurbish tool through brothers. Have found another one, through another company. I think Brothers store for DTG is aweful, I can't seem to see or find from descriptions all I would be interested in knowing about and/or buying. Thanks for the tip

Brother has a GT3 cookbook on line that shows various white cleaning schedules for the variety of printers out there. Could be of some use to almost anyone, but if you only print a few times a week, you're gonna get killed by the constant white tube cleanings and fills. Run at least 15 a day and you can delay some of the maintenance procedures.
