We haven't been able to get the white inks to pull through either of the 2 tubes on our GT-361. We replaced both tubes thinking they were clogged and cleaned the print heads. We checked the pump to make sure it was pulling the inks through (like with tube cleaning) and it works fine on the CMYK lines. Has anyone ever had an issue with this?

Signsource, as there might be a few items that can cause no suction, I would ask you call into support. If you’re located within the US or Canada, please give us a call at 877-4Brother or contact your original dealer if outside these areas.

The answer to this question is going to suck for you unfortunately. Assuming your heads are good the problem could be a series of "Y" joints that may be clogged. If you follow the lines from the heads you will come to a "Y" connector, that then connects to a tube where the other 2 white print heads meet it and then it goes through another "Y" joint which is where the color ink meets up and all that goes to a central line to the pump and then out. (the color inks have the same system) any of those "y" joints can either be clogged or have a poor connection. replacing the first tubes will do nothing. the part that sucks is actually getting to all these connections you have take apart a good portion of the machine to get to them. The process is easy but time consuming. Also make sure the tubes to the capping station have not come loose as well as this is all how the machine pulls the ink.

You sound like you have an understanding of this issue:

Here’s my mystery

None of the caps, white or color are pulling ink into the tubes below
The pump seems fine... could it be a clog at the farthest place before the pump?

Any ideas would be super helpful
I’m going to attempt to take the mantience station out in the am
Ive watched a tech do it ( 900 $ later)

I think I can do it, but if you have any advise I’ll take it before I roll up my sleeves:0

Seems odd that none of them are pulling ink. The white ones may clog if not used for a while but the colored ones shouldn't really. Has the machine sat for a really long time without being used?

Have you tried filling the caps with cleaning solution and seeing if there's any action when the pump starts, any bubbling?

If there is no action at all I'd suspect an issue with the pump, it would be quite the coincidence for all of the tubes to clog at the same time.

Thanks for replying

I use the machine all the time
I’ve owned it for 4 years

I think what might of happened
Is the line might have been clogged during white ink cleaning?

If the pump is bad would it still sound normal

Doesn’t sound labored

I think I’ll take it apart

Any advise doing that
(. Waste station area) would be appreciated

Thanks again

Curious what ended up being the problem? I have a printhead not pulling anything either. Lines and pump pressure are all good. Im stumped.
i just got the same thing. GT361 was printing 2 days ago, i just did a cleaning this morning, and one of the white lines didn't pull ink, now the 2nd white line isn't going through either. I took the heads out, cleaned them as well as the capping station is sucking properly. I'm stumped as much as you.

Any outcome to this post's problem?
