printed my first bad nozzle check this morning! uggg was at the gament extrvaganza in pittsburgh this fri and sat ranting and raving how i never had a bad nozzle check, well it has happened to me.

power went out on friday after i left, im assuming this is partial to blame?????

all colors on nozzle check are great!
white is where the problems is,
furtherest to the right #4 is at about 60-70% clear. #'s 1-2-3 on the nozzle check maybe missing 1 small segment.

any tips for clearing this?

1) have done several head cleanings

2) have done several prints! hoping that printing would help clear.....

3) any other tips to try, without flushing?

4) i read that the damper might have something to do with this? any truth to this?

thank you very much for any help

If your HM1-C has WIMS, the ink may not have been circulating if the power went out. Not sure if that is related. You said you have performed several head cleans, have you tried a "power clean"? (Some printers call it an ink charge) It usually clears out the more stubborn clogs.

I wouldn't stress about it if you have 1 channel that is 65-70% and the other 3 channels are mostly there. It shouldn't affect your underbase much. Sometimes jetting ink helps to clear clogged nozzles.

We learned this the hard way after getting or printer and following the instructions by doing a head clean. They never were better than 60% until we started printing test images.

Even with open air systems ink sitting for a few hours or even overnight shouldn't cause clogged nozzles.
ok GOOD NEWS! ALMOST COMPLETELY CLEAR! i did a few more head cleans didnt seem to change had the same results.
so what i did was do a head cleaning and while it was do the head clean i took my syringe filled with cleaning solution and injected it in my capping station so that it was filled when the head went back into dock position, i let it sit for a couple hours and soak..... came home ran the nozzle check almost same results as original, and ran a few more cleanings, this time the nozzle checks began to move around from the last to the first pattern etc. which was good news because this shows that there isnt a clog with dried ink!
few more head cleans later and now probably close to 96-98 % clean on my white channel # 4
will continue to work on it in the morning! and report the findings.

i feel a lot better now that i had this result......

If you do a lot of head cleanings in succession it is a good idea to let the printer sit for a while before doing a nozzle check, it allows the inks to "settle down" before the print. Hope this helps.
thank you don,

head is now completely clean no problems, i think the soak of cleaning solution in the capping station helped.

thank you all,
I was having similar problems and tried the SOAK trick and it worked for me! I wish I would have came across this thread earlier and saved myself from the 15-20 ink charges that I did!!! Thanks again!
