White box please help

Im trying to take one of my images and make the background transparent and i was reading the forums and they say to use the magic wand tool but i dont have it for some reason the picture is a .jpg i think but nothing seems to work im trying to make my image so that its just the picture and nothing else so i can print onto color shirts.

I could show you in real life quickly... but typing it might be confusing..lol
and you definitely have the magic wand... it's the icon below the arrow in pshop...
you can also use the erase all tool... just click on the white area...it may take some tweaking though

If you have Corel Draw you can use the cutout tool in the menu bar in corel Paint...
