I have opportunity to purchase a 15x15 Gecko or a 9x12 Hix Hobby. My question would be," Should I give up the size to get the HIX?" These are what I can afford at the present time. I am new and only do monograms on t-shirts. Would love to have some professional opinions about my two choices.

Get the gecko. You'll want the size. The gecko is great. People are afraid of cheap presses... But I've had a gecko for about 2 years now and have never had a problem. Before that, I had another cheap-o china heat press that lasted about 6 years.
