Hi, I have a few Christmas designs on sale and I would like some ideas on where to advertise. I'm already working on getting some space in my local newspaper but I'm need some ideas on where to advertise on the internet.
Thanks in advance for any idea you might have :D

if you were to advertise on the internet you should look into something that would only be temporary (unless you plan on doing this for a while and not just the holidays). First thing i would look into is something like Craigslist. That is free (i'm pretty sure) and accessible to thousands of viewers everyday. You could look at other places online like buying a space in yellowbook, or maybe spending some money to come up on google searches, but i'm sure those are rather expensive.

If you have some time on your hands, you could create a myspace or facebook and let people know what products you offer (although you don't want to be too pushy because it could lead to spam issues). I would definitely reccommend craigslist though for sure.

hope this helps

Hi! Thanks for the advice! I actually went to Craigslist and posted some ads for my site. I do want to do this as a career, I'm a Graphic Designer/Illustrator but I've always loved selling, and decorating garments, so if I could do this as a full time job would be a blessing for me.
I do worry about nor looking like a spammer, I hate when I get like 20 messages from people offering stuff so i don't want to make the same mistake, so hopefully it won't happen.
I'll register my site in Google as well but I can;t afford to be listed as first in their search, it's kind of expensive I bet!
Thanks for the advice :D:D

have you thought about eBay?

I know that this would cut into your profits but if they're holiday based you might see bigger order amounts
Hi! I've tried Ebay for other items that I was selling before (necklaces and some other jewelry) and it Didn't actually worked that well for me. I guess it has a lot to do with luck. I have a nice template I bought for Ebay auctions where I can add as many pictures as I want, so I guess it Wouldn't hurt to try, let's hope this time I get people interested
Thanks for the idea!

Everywhere is the answer! There are LOTS of free opportunities out there to get your message across on the net. Here are some basic suggestions...these dont apply to just XMas. This is stuff you would do all the time. These are free, there are tons more free and paid ways to get your word out.

-Make youtube videos about your designs, you and/or your company..whatever it takes to get eyes on you. Create a buzz about your business. Make it intersting to watch. Direct people to your website in the vids...get their email addys even if they dont buy from you. Do this w/ an Opt in page. Maybe they opt into a contest for free shirts or a newsletter.

-Get a blog if you dont have one. Search engines love them and it allows customers to interact with you personally. It shows a human side to your biz....ppl like that.

-If you have an email list, send out an email campaign to all your subscribers. If you dont have an email list then its time to build one. Do this by giving out free info to your prospects and building trust and getting them to sign up for this stuff w/ their email addy.

-Joing forums where your customers are most likely to hang out.

It really seems that everyone underestimates the power of MySpace. Our company is based almost solely on buyers from MySpace, and we are doing pretty well. After only two months, we have 6000 friends and have commented all of them several times, which allows all of their friends to see us too. It's so massive that it really does work.

Yeah myspace and similar sites can be very powerful. Where else can you sit down and become "friends" with thousands of ppl in one night and let them know about your brand? lol
