If I'm not mistaken, I believe that was an opaque transfer for darks that he used to demonstrate the optical eye capability of the cutter.

However, I believe there is also a "printable vinyl" called ColorPrint II (?) out there as well. Can't remember where you get it from but will dig around to see if I can find it again. It may be offered by Specialty Materials who also makes ThermoFlex.
Ok...thanks for all your help :) Would those types of paper be expensive though?

yes, SpecialTY Materials did sell it last time I checked. :)

Contact them and ask them for a distributor near you. Toll-Free: 877-437-8556

But do they come in sheets (e.g. 8.5x11) so that they can be placed in an inkjet printer and printed on, like in the video attached above?

Not sure if you are asking me the question...

but if they don't, you can cut it down with a ruler and exacto knife. :) ....or use a cutter.

Its just opaque transfer paper. I think it was inkjet paper, but could have been laser. Anyway, you can buy most of the transfer papers in 8.5x11 and 11x17.
The opaque paper..in 8.5 x 11 size...is around $1 per sheet or so. Not sure on the price of the ColorPrint but it does come in 8.5 x 11 though.
I'm sure if Josh used it in a video, that Imprintables would sell the product. .... JB

I have used alpha gold for darks (printable vinyl) in 8.5X11 sheets with the claria inks that came with my epson 1400 and they worked great. I need a cutter to contour cut the images so I won't have a white outline around any of the transfers. Other than the cut out problem ( my problem, not the paper/vinyl )it hasn't bled or ffaded after numerous washes;)

Terry, where did you buy the Alpha Gold for darks? I have the epson 1400 as well and I have a Roland GX24 cutter. The inks bleed and fade on the paper I have now. Thanks, Ken

I fordet where, it was a sample pack that a lot of members have gotten. Someone that got the sample pack with the alpha gold, green JPSS and red? chime in and let Ken know where, PLEASE. Not being able to do a good job of trimming yet is why I haven.t ordered more. Its true I don't like the feel but hey, I'm getting a vinyl cutter to put vinyl on shirts and uniforms so that sounds kinda hypocritical doesn't it. But the three shirts I have done used it on are not loosing color or anything. The documentation I have with the packet has a web site Heat transfer paper, tutorials and heat presses to start a business. Good luck.
You can get it at Alpha Supply company or www.tshirtsupplies.com under the name JetWear for darks. Both are forum sponsors
Hi, I'm Jim. I'm new and this is my 1st post. I to have been looking for this printable vinyl and found this colorprint ll online from MasterWarehouse.com. Clic on t-shirt material to the left & the colorprint ll button will be below with a list of others. I called the number and spoke to Tony. He was helpfull and told me colorprint worked with inkjet. I called the manufacturer and they said I needed solvent based ink. I called Tony back & he was surprized to hear this. The colorprint is cheaper (less expensive). Anyway, I'm rttling on & on here so I will go. Hope I was helpfull. Jim
