Hey

Im just starting out and i got loads of vinyl with my cutter but its only for signs, decal etc. m wondering if anyone knows any UK based suppliers. I seen things on ebay but i thing these are inflated prices for small cuts, im ideally looking for rolls

I'm a relative newcomer to t-shirt printing but I've already formed some opinions on different vinyls.

Two good products are:-

Xpres Superflex - bit more expensive than others but low adhesion of backing sheet makes excess vinyl easy to peel..... but, the downside is if you 'lift' small detail when weeding then it's virtually impossible to refix it to the backing prior to pressing. Also, the low adhesion means you need to take care not to accidentally move a design positioned on a garment when placing heat paper over the design.

Textile Transfers, Sublimation, Sign Making and Heat Presses | Xpres

MDP Hot Flex - a bit less expensive than the above. Slower to peel due to higher adhesion of the backing layer but this in turn solving the problems referred to above regarding repairs and positioning.

What type did you buy, and where from?...

i brought Hot Flex just a black and a white just to do the company logo and see what it presses like and i got them from MDP in tilbury, it has everything i need in one place which is really helpful and the guys there were really helpful

Its £7 a meter, and i havent used anything else to compare it with mate but i aint gonna use anything else really, i dont think £7 is a bad price i can get maybe 3 sdesigns out of it so with the t shirt FOTL @ £1.70 plus £2.30 for vinyl plus running costs about £6 a tee, which gives me around 75% profit and i can lower my prices slightly from £19.99 to £14.99, great range of colour although the white i couldnt for **** see the internal weeding lines, id defo reccomend
