I keep on making screen and when it comes time for me to run the ink through some outlines of the letters look still a lil cloudied with emulsion. Or the last word will be broken off in half..what am I doing wrong? Is it because the last letter is near the end of the emulsion on screen and that a weak point? Or is it burning process? Am i burning to long? If so why am I only having the problem with the end of the design? I tried it several times with different designs and the last letters near end of the screen come out faded. Do I near to wash out with a higher pressure hose or something?

so does it look like it is all washed out and then when you go to print you see a slight haze of emulsion? if that is the case you might not be burning it long enough and it doesn't wash out clean enough and some emulsion is redepositing itself on your screen after it is washed

It's not low pressure that's your problem. A properly exposed screen should wash out with a gentle stream of water.

You need to increase your exposure time. Your emulsion isn't completely exposed so a film of it is washing into your image area and then drying.

Have you done a step wedge test or used an exposure calculator? If not, you need to do that to find the right exposure time.

I've run into this problem when I was "rushing" and not letting the emulsion dry completely before burning. I'm guessing since the emulsion was not properly dried, it didn't get completely exposed which would be essentially what Phillip (Neato) was getting at.

Since you said that the outside of you design is giving you a problem, I think it may be your film and screen contact. The film may be not in intimate contact with your screen at the very edges of your exposure unit. Are yo using a vacuum hold down? If not, make sure your film is slap up against your screen, especially at the edges of your design. If it is not, light will undercut your film and make it hard or impossible to wash out because the edges are getting exposed some.

Im using a piece of glass i broke in half to hold down my transparencies when burning..lol The glass is a little dusty but i thought it was getting the job done..Do you think I should add more time or do less time..Its wierd it seems if i do a longer time of like 9 minutes its harder to wash out so I be thinking its over exposed but when I do 8 mins its washes out easy but I be having some problems on small spaces on the screen that should be completly cleared. So when this happens I just go down to the car wash and use the high pressure hose and spray it till all the spots come out.,,,,idk.. it would be easier and cheaper if i could just get my exposure time down pack
