To cut htv on silhoutte?

I went to settings choose vinyl & auto sets blade to #2, speeds, force etc... & tried to cut but somehow the cutting didn't go thru, its hard to peel. I somewhat read few months back that it should be #3 for vinyl. Im using thermoflex vinyl. I also remember that "DOUBLE CUT"' helps but im using the new version studio 3 "double cut" is no where to find. Although i didnt used any mat.

Any inputs is highly appreciated.

Is it barely cutting the vinyl or is it cutting into the backing really deep. You want your setting to just barely make a mark into the backing. If its cutting to deep it will sometimes make the vinyl lift part of the backing with it. .

depends on the vinyl

use test cut in the bottom right of the cut window to dial it in
if it is not right, put your vinyl back in, adjust settings,
and move the blade with the little arrows in studio to the right of the first test cut
now you are not re-cutting over the first test cut
keep doing this until you can weed and there are no visible cut-lines in the carrier sheet underneath

you should not need double cut ever for htv

here is a good starting point for regular htv:
dial-thingy 3 ~ speed 3-5 ~ force 11
blade at 2

i always use a cutting mat, saves alot of headaches (cricut makes a 24")

I think kat would like exact settings :D
I would say try and waste some vinyl like all of us did :p
Hell I destroyed blade few days ago, while I was testing a setting and I cut the mat in the same day...

But cause I feel like santa, here you go kat. Bulletproof:

But then kat would be in the trouble when new htv or something else would come under the cutter. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime :p

edit: didn't wont to down vote your effort for helping. It is a great we have community which can help. Thumbs up. Just wonted to state, that there can be a problem later down the road if someone doesn't learn basics about how to find good settings.
