If you can live without the "eye thing" ... contour cutting ... then look at the GCC expert 24. I have one .. works great.

Contour cutting is only necessary if you cut pre-printed materials. It reads an index mark that you printed on the sheet as a "starting reference point". Professional printing on vinyl requires either screen printing on it or the use of a UV ink-jet or solvent ink-jet printer. The equipment to do any of those will set you back at least $10K. You can solvent screen print too for less, but thats a nasty proposition you probably won't want to get into.

In either case ... we thought we'd need the contour cutting to. We can UV screen print stickers but even so we don't miss not having the contour cutting.

Thats who we bought ours from... southeast laser sales. Our experience wasn't great. The ad said "Over 10 available", but I didn't read the fine print that said delivery was 4 - 6 weeks. The over 10 available were on a boat from china ... not in his possession. As much my fault for not reading as his. In either case ... they delivered in close to that time frame.

Also noticed he's not the fastest reply when you contact him for updates. Seems if he has something to say he'll reply, if not then you get silence. Don't expect anything like "not sure, I'll know in a week" as an immediate response. When the week goes by and he has the answer ... then he'll respond.

From what I understand, he is GCCs sales for that product. There are a couple other people around that carry them, but he is the "Official" place to buy.

All in all, I would buy again from him. For the money seems like a great machine.

as for the us cutters I don't have any direct experience with them, but chose the GCC based on other things I've read posted here. The two things I read that made a difference were...

1.) The contour cutting on the us cutters was difficult to work with... almost to the point it wasn't worth messing with. Some people had good luck with it, other none at all. I'm not someone who wants to rely on luck to get a job done so this told me if I needed contour cutting then spend the coin on a Roland or Graphtec. I decided I didn't need it yet.
2.) I saw multiple posts on different site raving about the GCC. More then one person referred to it as a "Roland without the contour cutting" with regards to how they felt the overall quality of the machine was. I don't have a Roland so I can't attest to that but I can say that the machine seems very well built and it does what its supposed to do very well.

I have a US Cutter and would not buy another one. It works. The software that came with it is inferior and I'm just waiting for the day the thing fails during the middle of an important job. That day will come. Meanwhile I am saving pennies for an upgrade to a better unit. In fact any profit this one contributes to is being held until I can buy the replacement.

Also on the US Cutters, if you are referring to the PCUT models, those do not have a driver that operates the cutter. This means that you need to either use the software that comes with the cutter, or purchase software that drives the cutter.
