Actually, i didn't understand you very well, when you said neck band, it is called rib material more exactly. Nowadays, most of t-shirts use rib to make the collar(neck band), it keep a good shape of collar than a self fabric material. The rib will run out of the original shape after 1 year wearing or 2 years utmost whatever it is very good quality, and looks very urgly. So, i'd prefer a self fabric collar, it wear out same time with the t-shirt, but the rib collar will sacrifice in advance. Maybe you can check out your old t-shirt, and see what has the rib become today.

When you said hang problem, it seems more like a cut&sew problem, not material problem. Thanks for your further explain if i got you wrong.

thanks Bill,
that helped alot...i mean you understood my question properly.
sooo bill correct me if im wrong, you think going with self material for neck band is better than RIB.

And can i know what to do about the hanging part about the neck side. Meaning when i wear it, its like from the left shoulder where the neck should be along the shoulder, it is raised. like we raise the collar in collared t-shirts.
Would you be kind enough to advise me how to over come this problem, before i put the t-shirt out for retail.

IF ITS CUTTING AND SEWING, what is the best thing to make it right?

i personally like self material to make the neck band, but the self fabric won't as stretch as a rib material, so when a neck hole cut fitted(turtle neck), and it wear a littlt bit tight, when the neck band isn't stretchable enough, people will feel the neck is too tight and clutch on neck and feel uncomfortable. So, get a right neck size would be very important too. For example, if a AA2001 t-shirt cut with a self fabric neck band instead of rib neck band, it won't feel very comfortable as it was now. When the neck shape is a scoop neck, big and wide, no problem to choose a self fabric neck band.

I tried really hard to understand the problem you was describing, but sorry, is it possible to upload a picture to show the problem? I'll see if anything i can understand better, and provide you possible solution, maybe somebody else can understand and provide their advice.

Hi, AJ, Just got a time to touch the forum today, sorry for late response about this.

My several suggestions to improve the problems:

1. Make a smaller collar if you use self fabric collar, the collar is too wide from you picture, that i guess it must be wider than 2.5cm, 3cm roughly, It is the main cause that the collar made too wide, change the collar width to 1.5cm even 1cm wide will make the collar down and kiss the neck much better, otherwise, use rib material to make the collar if you love a wide collar.

2. Improve the sizing, seeing from your picture, the neckhole is not centered because the neckhole line slope to left hand, it maybe the problem of wear. And control the neck width, i can see from your picture the neck width is a bit of narrower, that is another problem to cause a stand collar. Try to think by yourself, if the shirt wasn't sew a collar yet, did you see any place on the shoulder for the collar? if no, then the collar will climb to the neck, and become a turtle neck collar. Therefore, shoulder width and neck width are the main specs to finish a nice neckhole.

Hope i did help a little.

Here is the size chart we have used for our fitted men's t-shirt:

For your question about shoudler&neck, did you notice that the collar in your picture CLIMB on your "neck" placment instead of on the "shoulder" where it should be? In a simple word: ensure the collar on the shoulder, not on the neck, then the problem came out like your picture showed, hope it is clear now.
