What will my designs cost? SP vs DTG

So I am in the process of setting up an online store and I will hopefully be selling to some brick and mortar places soon. I need to start figuring out what the ballpark cost of getting my various designs screenprinted wil be for my business plan. I currently am setup with a POD DTG guy. I sell a shirt, he prints and ships. Though this is working great, I need to eventally develop a relationship with a screen printer so if I get larger orders (like for a brick and mortar establishment) I can sell them at a lower price (which would assume I am getting them cheaper.)

I know a good amount about how screen printing works, but I don't really know how things are priced. There is only one local shop in my town and their customer service has been sub par. They mainly make shirts for the college so they are overpriced and don't seem to care about other buyers... Anyway, I'd like to work with someone local, but I figure I just wanted to drop a line out to see what the prices were. Let's assume that I provide the shirts, what are "ballpark" prices that people charge? Creating screens, printing, or even printing if I already had the screens made previously.

Another reason for this inquiry is because I have some designs that are one color, but others that are over a dozen I'm sure... So some of my shirts may just be more economical to have done DTG either way...

I can PM anyone a few jpgs if you needed to see some designs. For the most part they are all under 12x16", some are two sided. Many are under 6 colors. I also know that the number of shirts made makes a difference.

Again, PM me for pics or link me somewhere that has a cohesive pricing guide...

What kind of quantities are you looking to print (as you mentioned, the price directly relates to the quantities you're running per design)?
That's the thing, I don't really know right now. I guess knowing where the price breaks were would help me. All my local place told me was that they have the screen creating charge, charge per color, and there are price breaks, but they won't give me numbers...

It'll be almost impossible to give quotes if you don't have even a general idea of how many you need or what your budget might be.

There's a big difference in price between 24 t-shirts and 240 t-shirts of the same design.
I agree Rodney. And understand. So far a few people have PM'd me with their info or a name of someone to contact. It has helped.

Hopefully I can ballpark-

screen setup=
Per color=
Per side?-

And then price breaks at 25, 50, 100, 200,300, 500, etc...
Ask your favorite printers for a price list. It will allow you to work out everything yourself in regards to price per print. I know that when you have a quick quote you need to give a customer or if you just want to work up the price for your own designs/clothing line, it gets frustration to have to call or email someone and wait for them to get back to you.

Not all printers are willing to give this information out to anyone, so expect a few no's. I hope this will help you out in knowing what to ask for at this point.
