what to do with ripped screens

I have a couple of aluminum screens that have ripped mesh. I was realize with the cost of shipping to and from, getting them re-meshed is probably not worth it.
I am wondering what people do with the frames that are no longer of use.
Is there a business use or a creative use?

You could buy an oversized Newman screen with a mesh size bigger than the aluminum frame and then remesh every frame yourself?

I use a torn screen when I do layout for registering my films.
Honestly save them up and send them out at once to get re-meshed. That's one of the reasons you got aluminum screens in the first place isn't it?
I am going through the process of transitioning to all aluminums and as my wooden frames lose tension, warp too much (doesn't take long), or rip I just rip the mesh out and give them to my GF. She is going to use them to make decorative planter bases or something.

Check out the shur-loc EZ Angle Conversion kit... You attach an aluminum angle to the frame that allows the EZ fabric panels to be stretched on to your old frames!

I have 20 frames it's cheaper to replace than remesh for me..

I have printable canvas in my sign shop. Stretch it over the frame for a picture box. Or stretch canvas and let the kids paint an original.
I have a local supplier that recently started meshing and re-meshing screens both wood and aluminum. he gave me an aluminum one to try and I'm sold. Still cheaper to have him re-mesh the wood but once the wood frames go south I will replace with aluminum and he can re-mesh them cheaper as well. Check around, If I didn't see him doing this I would never know he re-meshed...he doesn't advertise re-meshing on his web site either.

I just sent 20 screens off to be remeshed through Ryonet. After shipping to them, the cost of remesh, and shipping back I still saved about $7 a screen over buying new ones. Doesn't sound like much but that's $140 savings for 20 screens.

I have re meshed statics using the Newman as Richie suggested. You can find large graphic frames that allow you to do 2 screens at a time.

I would stretch the mesh to 30-40N then set out in sun for several hrs. Then re stretch while warm back to 40N. Then let cool in shop and glue. It didn't take that long and these statics had more tension and lasted longer then any statics I've purchased.

Check out spot color supply for remesh. I used a remesh another member brought to my shop from those guys and could clearly see it had been used several times and the tension was still over 24N. Not sure if they do them or have them done but it seems that they were done right which is getting harder to find these days.

Are these still available anywhere? I'm unable to find them anywhere.
