What T shirt weight is preferred ?

I`m going to buy some t shirts in bulk for the first time very soon. Is there a preference among the veteran t shirt sellers ? I`ve seen 5oz and 6 oz shirts. Most of my transfers will be from an ink jet printer but I will also be doing plastitols. Also can you give advice on what t shirt suppliers have worked best for you ? I`ve heard good things about TSC apparel However they have a brick and mortar here in Ohio so I think I`ll have to pay sales tax. Any other dependable suppliers you can recommend would be appreciatedl

I mostly sell the good ole 6.1 ounce. I prefer Gildan but will use Anvil if necessary. It depends on your market. TSC has Tultex and Those softer shirts are popular now. Oh, paying sales tax is probably better than paying shipping if you can just go pick them up. Staton Wholesale is my preferred supplier-I order them and go pick them up. Call and ask them for a few samples if necessary. Honestly when I sell a shirt I sell them on 6.1 ounce. Heavy durable long lasting shirt .... And I make fun of the see through 5 ounce ones.

You won't have to pay sales tax - TSC only sells to resellers, therefore, you're responsible for collecting the sales tax when you sell the decorated garment. Because of this, you'll have to provide your resellers permit before opening an account.

I mostly sell Gildan's 5.3 oz. I think it is a good weight and value. Nothing against the 6.1 oz, just like the 5.3 oz. better.
I'm stuck on the Gildan 2000 (6.1oz). I tried to work in some thinner 5000 or the 8000, but everyone thinks it's cheap. Same with even the bella canvas ones. Labeled 'cheap' because they don't have the feel of the 2000. Actually I've interchanged the 2000 with the anvil equivalent too, but that was just because they were on sale and to see if they were any different. For now I'm not going to even try to change until I get a woman wanting a fitted shirt.
Only Gildan 2000 here unless customer requests something different. Customers seem to like the thickness, only once had someone say they were to thick (it was a gym wanting workout shirts).

If you're reselling them you shouldn't be paying sales tax on them. And, if you are paying sales tax then you don't really have wholesale pricing.

I don't know any distributors that will give a true wholesale price to a retail customer. Most wont even open accounts.

Look into it.
