Getting ready to do a order of shirts for the senior class and they want all their names on them. What is best for them to use to sign their names on the vellum paper along with their design so that when we burn our screen their names will come out?

We print out sheets with 2"x3" blocks and have the kids sign inside the blocks with black pen. Then we scan the names in so we can place them with the artwork in a way that's consistent with the design. It also allows us to resize names so those that sign really big get scaled down.

I'd print the blocks in light blue so they will be easy to delete if some of the kids run into the lines. I'd also ask them to use new black felt tip pens. Stress to them that the cleaner and bolder the signatures are the better they will look on the shirts.

I do the 2x3 boxs with a 1 point line usually red, hand them 2 or 3 fine tip sharpies and tell them to be neat and stay in the box when I convert to vector I delete the boxes.. I basically do the same thing when they want to sign their names in a number, basket ball, letters or whatever I print an outline to size on white paper give them 2, and some sharpies scan it, convert it, use the outline to line up, print my vellum, and then I'm off and printing...2 because sometimes they mess it up.. gave out vellum before, no matter how many times you say be careful, it never fails, little Jimmy never washes his hands after lunch...
