What should I look for in a heat press, and where can I buy quality blank t-shirts ? i'm also thinking of purchasing transfers , and a vinyl cutter.just starting out looking for guidance.
Budget would help with the direction.
Graphtec/Roland vinyl cutters if you have the funds. If not, consider Saga CNC or GCC.
GeoKnight or Stahls' for heat presses if you have the funds. If not, there are numerous other brands to choose from such as Ricoma.
In a heat press....quality, warranty, price, and a supplier with the the customer service to help with any problems. Blank shirts...Bodek & Rhodes and Alphabroder are two suggestions. There are many more. Transfers, vinyl, cutters.
The easy answer is to go with a brand that is industry recognized
Geo-Knight
Hix
(Stahls) Hotronix
(Stahls) Mighty Press
Phoenix Phire (manufactured by Stahls Hotronix)
Power Pro
Keep in mind what you expect to do as a business. I know this is hard when starting out because you will focus more on the budget. Focus on long term. Nothing is perfect but if you can save yourself some frustration by avoiding unreliable equipment in an effort to save money you will be better off long term. I'm speaking from what I know and what I've learned the hard way.
Good luck
