I'm starting up a home business doing heat transfers, and wanted some advice on which printer to buy. I think I only need one that prints 8.5X11 as I don't have plans to do anything but t-shirts at this point. Also my budget is fairly limited. So can anyone recommend a certain base model that is compatible with transfer ink, and maybe the best place to buy it? Thanks!

I print at home for myself friends and family. And from advice here, I went for the cheap no frills approach, by getting an epson d92 (durabrite ink) The ink is pricey and you can use compats. However since using compats my printer is knackered, it even rejects originals as compats when it feels like it. So in short if you go for the d92 or it's newer replacement. Stick with the originals. Though some here have had no probs with compats on the d92. Then also with epson you have the waste ink max out to deal with.

Epson are crooks, but it may be a good cheap way to start.

NOT TO HIJACK POST.
But what non Epson printer, would you guy's recomend on a tighter budjet????

Regards, M
